In BrightPay, Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) calculations are dependent on the employee's calendar setup. A full SSP week runs from Sunday to Saturday, and adjustments may be needed if the employee's calendar does not match this setup. Override options are available by holding the Shift key and using the spanner icon next to the SSP entry if you wish to adjust calculations. Ensure working days are correctly entered in the employee's profile working days setting to avoid calculation errors. SSP is payable only after four consecutive sick days, these are known as qualifying days and include non working days. Please see the SSP figures for tax year 2025/2026 below.
