If BrightPay software is crashing, there are several steps you can follow:
1) Check and adjust firewall or antivirus settings which might be blocking BrightPay processes.
2) Check if the configuration folder has become corrupted—if so, delete the latest folder in the configuration directory. **
3) Confirm the software is installed locally on your C drive to avoid issues that may arise from network storage.
4) Ensure all software updates are installed. To check for update, click on the (?) on to top right hand corner of the system and select the option - check for updates.

** To delete the config file, please follow the steps below.
Firstly if you can, you will need you to take note of where your employer files are saved. Right click on the company name on the Open Employer screen and select Browse to file location to see where it is located. Once this is done close BrightPay and click into your Computer and follow this path:
C:\Users<Username>\AppData\Local\Thesaurus_Software_Ltd\Thesaurus.UK.BrightPay.vs_Url..... (If AppData is not visible click on View Hidden Items at the top of your page - This may be within the settings which is located within the three dots - see screenshot attached.)
In here delete the last 25. numbered folder in the list, its not necessary to delete all the folders - just the latest one.
Once this is done then launch your BrightPay program, If your companies are no longer listed then you will need to right click anywhere on the screen and choose the option Add Employer(s) to List and you can then choose your employer files from the location where they are saved on your PC.
