To import your employer(s) from BrightPay Desktop to BrightPay Cloud, please follow the steps below or watch the video tutorial:
3 Simple Steps
Step 1. Create your organisation.
Go to https://brightpay.brightsg.com/ and log in using your Bright ID.
If you have already purchased BrightPay, or used BrightPay Connect or other Bright products, you will already have a BrightID.
If you don’t have a Bright ID, click Sign up for Bright ID and follow the steps.
Once logged in, you will be asked to create your organisation.
An organisation is where employers, team members, and billing are managed. Here, you need to enter your organisation's name and address, choose your payment plan, and add a payment method.
Step 2. Import your employer(s) from BrightPay Desktop.
To import your employer from BrightPay desktop, choose the second option ‘Import from Windows/Mac’, click ‘Select data file(s) to upload, then browse to the location where your employer file(s) are saved, select the employer file(s), and click Open.
To import multiple employers, select the Shift key on your keyboard and select multiple employer files you wish to import. You can import up to 10 employers per batch.
If the employer data file is password protected, you need to enter the password to import the employer.
Step 3. Open your employer.
Select Open employer to access your payroll data.
If you wish to import another company, click the icon with the company name in the top left corner, then click Import from Windows and follow the process

What needs to be re-entered:
You need to enter the HMRC Gateway credentials and Nest credentials (if Nest is your pension provider). To do this, click on Settings in the top right corner > Submissions.
What comes across from BrightPay Desktop to BrightPay Cloud:
If you are migrating to BrightPay Desktop mid-tax year, both company details, employees' year-to-date totals, reports, pay elements, attachment orders, benefits, pension details, and the pay periods processed in BrightPay Desktop come across to BrightPay Cloud.
Have you been using BrightPay Connect?
If you use BrightPay Desktop and Connect and you move your employer to BrightPay Cloud, please note that BrightPay Cloud software and BrightPay Connect are two separate products. BrightPay Connect is designed to work with BrightPay Desktop only.

Note: If you are getting an error or the file is failing to upload onto BrightPay Cloud, check in the desktop file if there is an employer logo in the Employer section. If so, remove the logo, save changes, close the file and try to import again. You can add the logo back into the employer on Cloud under the Employer section.
