To remove / delete a pension scheme from BrightPay, select the scheme in the Pensions section > More Spanner > Delete.
If when trying to delete a scheme you receive the message 'One or more employees are enrolled in the scheme. To be able to delete this item, you will first need to reopen any relevant payslips and undo any relevant enrolments' - this message is stating that payslips have been processed for employees in prior periods so deleting the scheme is not allowed.
Be cautious about re-opening payslips and undoing enrolments as this will change the amounts on the payslips already processed and remove any history from BrightPay.
If the scheme is old / unused but has had contributions processed in the current tax year (even if the employees have been switched to another scheme or the employees have left), you should leave the scheme on BrightPay and it can be removed in the following tax year.
When the employer is imported into the new tax year and no active employees are currently enrolled in the scheme, it will be possible to delete the scheme without disrupting any payroll data or contribution history.
