Q. If an employee has an annual leave entitlement, should their available leave balance up to a certain date in the year be pro-rated when I check it on the calendar?
A. This depends on the annual leave calculation method you’ve selected. If you’ve set the annual leave entitlement to “Set Number of Annual Leave Days” BrightPay will usually display the full annual allowance. The software will not automatically pro-rata the leave based on an employee's leave date - this will have to be manually calculated and the outstanding leave added manually to the employee's payslip (if applicable).
Q. Can I change the increments employees are able to select when requesting annual leave in BrightPay?
A. No, it is not possible to customise the increments for leave requests in BrightPay.
The available options are pre-programmed and fixed: employees can only request leave in units of ¼, ½, ¾, or a full day. You cannot add or change these increments.
